Humbug and Hope

Christmas can be a hard season. Some folks are lonely. Some are grieving. Some are depressed. Some are envious. Many are stressed. Bah, humbug!

Romans 15:13 (NIV)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let humbug go. Grab on to hope.

  1. Bah, humbug, not again!
Take your cheer and bloody stuff it.
Don’t you know the world’s in pain,
and blood is spilling by the bucket?
    Bah, humbug, count your curses,
    jail hope in Pandora’s box,
seek not grace in holy verses,
secure your heart with iron locks.
    Bah, humbug, save yourselves
from the mauling of the crowd
who shop and laugh at Santa’s elves,
and sing their carols much too loud.
    Bah, humbug, hark to me
    for misery loves company.
