Prayer over Politics

Do you pray for your President?

  • Didn’t vote for him, won’t pray for him
  • I pray he’ll change his mind
  • I’m praying for the leaders of both political parties.

1 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)
Pray this way for . . . all who are in authority.

“All.” Not just the ones I like.

  1. Disclaimer – the poem below does NOT reflect my own feelings about the current administration.

You may find the current president
a wee bit hard to swallow,
    but even with that sentiment,
    not praying doesn’t follow.
He was elected by your neighbours
(though perhaps you think them fools)
    but still your praying labours
    must follow Bible rules.
    Instruction is concise and clear
    from Jesus, and from Paul,
that we need pray for those we fear,
and whom we may not like at all.
    Remember that those in authority
    may be fellow-dwellers in Eternity.
