Good and Bad

No room in the inn, Herod’s plan to kill the baby boys—bad things happened to Mary, Joseph and the holy Child. Why would you expect only good things to come to you? Remember what Jesus said:

John 16:33 (NIV)
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.

  1. I’ve been granted pardon,
    and I’ve been given grace;
    the good, the bad, the charming,
    all lit up by God’s face.
    I’ve been pulled from fire
    and an avalanche of snow
    by a God who does not tire
    of where angels fear to go.
    I’ve been set back on my feet
    after falling, yet again,
    by a God who’ll gladly cheat
    to save me from the pain.
    ‘Twas I who truly owed the price
    that He paid in His sacrifice.
