Isaiah 7:14 (NIV)
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son,
and will call him Immanuel.
James 1:14-15
After desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
God with Us = life.
Sin = death.
Which to choose?
Death they say’s the wage of sin,
and shame the wage of fear;
one’s a game we cannot win,
the other, loss of what’s dear.
These fell riders, side by each
track each step we take,
watch us for the smallest breach,
and pounce on each mistake.
We can’t outrun them as we live
upon this fallen earth,
but we can use their whip to give
our nobler natures birth.
Mirrored in the enemy’s face
is what stands behind us – Grace.
