War and Peace

Wars and rumors of war. Political dissent.  Prejudice.

“Oh, bid our sad divisions cease,
And be yourself our King of Peace.”
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
John Mason Neale (1861) English

Psalteriolum Cantionum Catholicarum (1710) Latin

  1. They say that peace is beautiful,
    cooperation makes us true,
    in tolerance we’re dutiful,
but war is what I do.
I love the thunder of the blades
    spinning down the hostile air
to carry men of violent trades
    to the viper’s very lair.
I love the smell of kerosene,
    and napalm in the morning;
hit ’em hard and hit ’em clean,
    and leave their hootches burning.
What will I do when wars shut down…
a new career as rodeo clown?
