but I remember two things:
that I am a great sinner,
and that Christ is a great Savior.”

There is stuff that I recall
and do not want to share,
for memory is held in thrall
to that which I saw there.
Soon will come a celebration
with fireworks raised high,
while I see a murdered nation,
and those about to die.
My heart is sore imprinted
with those I could not save,
but with revenge intended
I stood beside their grave.
The dead could neither cry, nor laugh;
my rifle spoke on their behalf.
Andrew, I think we all carry in our hearts grief over those we could not save. And yet, saving everyone is a God-sized job.
Yep.
