Yes, you have to, because some day you might be in the metaphorical shoes of Jacob Astley, and find yourself repeating his heartfelt prayer on the eve of the battle of Edgehill, in the English Civil War:
“O Lord, Thou knowest how busy I must be this day. If I forget Thee, do not forget me.”
In my case, it’s not “if.” It’s “when I forget.” I’m grateful that God remembers. All the time.
