Simple words from Jesus:
John 14:27 (CEV)
I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give.
It isn’t like the peace that this world can give.

Where do you fall on the “war and peace” scale?
Let’s take a lesson from the book of Judges.
Judges 6:12, 23 (NIV)
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior” . . .
The Lord said to him, “Peace! Do not be afraid.”
We can go to war without God. But without God, there is no peace.
“Combat Trauma and PTSD are not just psychological conditions. They are spiritual as well.”
This wisdom comes from Cru Military, a Christian ministry with a dual focus: 1) helping the military community, and 2) training, equipping, and supporting individuals, churches, and ministries seeking to minister to the military in their midst.
Cru Military has resources to help individuals and churches come alongside service men and women with Combat Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, to help these wounded souls “take the steps of courage necessary to find the peace, the calm, the healing that God can bring.”
Lord, we thank you for Cru’s vision to partner with local churches and reach out to the “military in our midst” with the love of Christ. Bring healing to hurting souls, in Jesus’ name.
“Without the Spirit of God we can do nothing. We are as ships without wind or chariots without steeds.”
Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892)
Genesis 1:1 (NIV)
. . . the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Hovering? What does that mean?
Acts 2:1-2
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
The Spirit didn’t tiptoe it’s way in. It didn’t settle gently through the cracks. It blew in like a hurricane. The power of creation, re-creating.
Something’s broken in our schools. Something we won’t fix with fewer guns or more metal detectors. Too many young men think that destruction will transform their pain into fame. They’ve lost sight of the image of God–in themselves and in others.
Their souls are broken.
It’s a spiritual issue, and it has to be fixed at a spiritual level.
Lord, give us eyes to see these broken souls. Break our hearts on their behalf. Show us how to love them, how to pray for them, how to speak life and light into the darkness of their souls.
