You’re Building

We have a choice — build up or tear down. You’re building, I hope.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (VOICE)
So support one another.
Keep building each other up
as you have been doing.

Leave a trail of support: encouraging words, helpful deeds and uplifting prayers.

Your Building

There’s space for you in heaven . . .

God built it.

It’s a place of grace.

God’s Building

God built whole earth (including you and me). We are the work of His hands.

“This wide creation rose at his command,
Built by his word, established by his hand.”
Isaac Watts,* The Psalms of David, 1719
Psalm 93 – Part 2

The best work of our hands can never match the work of God’s hands.

*The work of Isaac Watts’ hands is impressive: he wrote more than 750 hymns.

Sacred Building

King David wanted to build a temple for the Lord. God assigned the job to David’s son, Solomon (read 1 Chronicles 22 for the details).

Are you up to the job?

Set your mind and heart to it. You are, after all, a sanctuary for the Lord.

Vain Building

Psalm 127:1 (NIV)
Unless the LORD builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.

“In vain.” In Hebrew, shav — meaning deceit, emptiness, falsehood, nothingness.

Does your labor seem worthless, empty, pointless? Maybe you’re working for the wrong boss.

HINT: this isn’t a do-it-yourself project.

God Shuts the Door

Yes, God opens doors for you. But He doesn’t promise to old the door open forever.

Genesis 7:15-16 (GNT)
A male and a female of each kind of living being went into the boat with Noah, as God had commanded. Then the Lord shut the door behind Noah.

Noah’s friends and neighbors watched him build the ark. How many of them thought, “If and when there’s water, I’ll get on the boat.” But the door closed before the water came.

Do you see an open door? What are you waiting for?

God Opens the Door

Has God opened a door for you?

Fear not.

Step over the threshold and get to work!

God’s Behind the Door

God’s behind your prayer closet door, patiently waiting.

Matthew 6:6 (ERV)
But when you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that private place.

Thank You, Lord,  for listening.

God’s at the Door

Open the door.

Have a heart-to-heart talk with Jesus.

God Is the Door

Jesus said,

John 10:9 (ESV)
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved.

The Hebrew word for door, “thura,” can also mean opportunity.

Have you stepped through the doorway? There’s no better opportunity — any where, anytime.
