Jerusalem Future

Let’s take a peek into the future:

Revelation 21:2-3 (NIV)
I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.”

The best is yet to come!

Good morning, Lord. I look forward to the hope of heaven, to the absence of evil and the glory of Your unending presence. Meanwhile, O God, walk beside me here on earth, fill me with strength and wisdom. Be my light in the darkness and my joy in hard times.

I’ve occasionally wondered about heaven being a place on Earth. Then, I often have a (following) knee jerk reaction about other sects (?) that believe it IS…and, this Presbyterian would not deign to consider such madness (ha!). Right now, one of my best couple friends are visiting the Natl Parks out West. Their photos home have encouraged me to think how VERY close heaven is to us! “Be near us, Lord Jesus…I ask you to stay!”

We’re promised a new heaven and a new earth. I’m not sure how that will work out, Mary, but no doubt it will be better than I imagine!
