Earthquake, Eclipse and Easter

Friday, I felt a small earthquake. On Monday, I saw a partial eclipse. It brought to mind Scripture I read during Easter week.

Matthew 27:45, 50-51 (ESV)
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour … Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.

… And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

I just got a tiny peek into the big picture.

Good morning, Lord. I see so much that reminds me of Your glory and power: the bright yellow of forsythia and the soft pink of cherry trees, the blue of the skies and the dark thunder clouds, the hustling squirrels and plodding bears. Sometimes Your power is beautiful, sometimes it is scary. Teach me to both love and fear You.

Fill me with reverence for Your holiness, gratitude for Your grace.
