For the 40 days of Lent, I’m praying for revival, a spiritual awakening.
Psalm 85:6-7 (TLB)
Oh, revive us!
Then your people can rejoice in you again.
Pour out your love and kindness on us, Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
Let’s pray for a viral revival.
Don’t know if it’s revival,
but something’s in the house.
Something ’bout survival
of a small and crippled mouse.
Couldn’t really leave the thing
outside for feline meal,
or to see the crow’s black wing,
so baby, here’s the deal:
it’s living in a big ol’ can
upon the kitchen table,
right next to a heater-fan
but it never will be able
to be released into the wild,
so I guess we have a rodent-child.
Years ago, a mouse set up her nest in our dog food container. When I discovered her and her babies, I took the bucket out to the stone wall at the back of our property and scooped out the little family, saying, “You’ve escaped death this time, now you’re on your own.” No rodent-children for me!
