Isaiah 66:1 (NIV)
This is what the LORD says:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.”
Toddler Jesus walked holding His mother’s hand. Young Jesus ran and played. 12-year old Jesus walked to Jerusalem. Adult Jesus carried out His ministry on foot.
God so loved His footstool.
Every step I now can take
hurts beyond what I might say,
and I wonder, does this make
me walk the Dolorosa Way?
I hope that I don’t put on airs,
or offer pagan contradiction,
but the comparison might be fair,
and cancer is a crucifixion.
Do you think I walk with Christ,
do you think I bear a cross,
and part of what He sacrificed
is reflected in my loss?
I am so sad and scared, my friend;
please help me define my end!
Do I think you walk with Christ, Andrew? Yes!
Do I think you bear a cross? Yes!
Do I think Christ’s sacrifice is reflected in your loss? Yes!
