Glorious Epiphany

“We worship Jesus. Our faith sees Him go from the manger to the cross, and from the cross right up to the throne, and there where God the Father dwells, amidst the unendurable glory of the divine presence stands the man, the very man who slept at Bethlehem in the manger; there He reigns as Lord of lords.”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)
The Wise Men, the Star, and the Savior

  1. Yes, Jesus may have gone
    from manger to Cross, then to the throne,
    but I am here to depend upon
    Psalm 144 to bring me home.
    Fingers strengthened for the fight,
    may Heaven bow, and mountains smoke
    take me past the last of light
    to where no prophet ever woke.
    Maybe it’s now all too late,
    maybe I have done screwed up,
    but I will go and meet my fate,
    and quaff deep from the poisoned cup.
    Bring it, demons from dank lairs;
    it’s you-all be needing fervent prayers.
