“Your mercy reaches from the heavens, through the clouds, to the earth below. You have come to us as a small child, but you have brought us the greatest of all gifts, the gift of eternal love.”
Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153)

I KEEP IT SHORT & SIMPLE.
Why?Almost half of American adults read below high school level. God looks at your heart, not your reading skills. Big faith can be built on simple words.

He was just a little tyke,
but His momma highly prized
Him, and when He died she was like,
“Whoa, J just done got super-sized!
I knew that He was really something
else, like at the wedding feast
when the wine He thought to bring
at party’s end left all so pleased,
but then He went and gone and taught
the stuff that all the priests attacked,
and after the bad end that brought,
for my Boy, the sky turned black.
Yeah, He’s God, but I still cry,
’cause when He hurt, well, so did I.”
We were watching a movie version of Pilgrim’s Progress at church, When the lights came up at the end, I saw the tears on my preschooler’s cheeks. “That was so sad, Mommy,” he told me somberly, “Jesus on the cross.” Would that we all hurt when He hurt.
And it’s a miracle to have a God who weeps or us.
Part miracle, part awesome tragic responsibility, too, that we can make Him weep.
