A Unique Disciple

You are a unique disciple. As is anyone you disciple.

“[Discipleship] training cannot be done on a mass scale. It requires patient, careful instruction and prayerful, personal guidance over a considerable time. Disciples are not manufactured wholesale. They are produced only one by one.”
J. Oswald Sanders
Spiritual Leadership, Moody Publishers, 1967

  1. Don’t look to me for mentorship,
    don’t look to have me lead.
    All you’ll get is a bad trip,
    and your soul will bleed.
    It’s not that I do not believe,
    but my faith’s close-held,
    nothing that you can receive;
    even for me it’s not jelled.
    Go find a better man to follow,
    and let me go my way;
    if we cross paths on some tomorrow
    perhaps, then, I shall pray
    in thanks that in Christ you grew,
    and that I was one you never knew.
