Pray the Plan

1 Chronicles 28:9 (ESV)
Know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought.

Good advice–from King David to his son Solomon. Centuries later, it still applies.

Lord God, give me a mind willing to serve you with my whole heart. I want to make Your plan my plan.

  1. Lord, I’d like to work your plan,
    but you can see my strength is laggin’,
    so, I ask that You understand
    about the fact, Myasis Dragon.
    I’d really like to help You out,
    to give a boost to Holy Will,
    but this is far worse than a rout;
    it’s the morning of a kill.
    So I hope you get my drift,
    that I’m useless to You now,
    unless You’ve got some beer to shift;
    that, at least, I still know how.
    So if You’ll please cut me some slack,
    I think I’ll go and get some rack.

    ‘get some rack’ is MarineSpeak for ‘retire to my bunk’

    • Shirlee Abbott says:

      I beg to differ, Andrew. Your words are far from useless. God’s using your brain power now, not your muscle power.
