Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Teaching us to obey everything Jesus commanded. Hmmm, I haven’t yet conquered that lesson. How about you?
I try to do the stuff He said,
so that I won’t regret
the places where my life has led,
but all too often, I forget.
It’s really more than good advice;
He is God, remember that,
and I’d obey him in a trice,
but recall comes off with my hat.
And so I blunder down the road
doing unto others when I can,
trying to help them with their load,
and trying, still to play the man.
I wonder if maybe this is the charm,
tattooing His words upon my arm?
True words, Andrew. It’s not that I don’t know; it’s that I forget. Or rebel and do it my way.
