Strength for the Frail

Sometimes it’s the oldest and most frail saints who lead the way. They know (as did the Apostle Paul) the source of their strength.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
[God] said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

God’s grace. Our strength.

  1. Frail is something I am not;
    I have the strength of ten.
    Today pumped iron, quite a lot
    and tomorrow, once again.
    It’s not that I despise the weak,
    they’ve been in my protection;
    it’s just that in the strength I seek,
    I can change cancer’s direction.
    A body that is trained to burn
    with metabolism set on ‘high’
    is the path I trust to return
    me to life when death draws nigh.
    And though the process isn’t merry,
    I’ll be the most-ripped dude in the cemetery.

    • Shirlee Abbott says:

      “Most-ripped dude” in heaven, Andrew. The part that matters won’t be in the cemetery.

  2. Good words, Shirlee. I’m thankful God strengthens us when we need it, and that He works in and through us!
