Pray for Work

Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT)
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

Lord God, equip me to do your work to build up the church.

  1. A call-and-response experiment.

Lord, for work befits my skill
    (You will never conquer death!)
give me view unto a kill.
(Bring it, and your final breath!)
My fingers you have taught to war
(Your faith will be your end!)
    and my heart’s yours forevermore.
    (Die with your Gallilean friend!)
I don’t pretend the gentle arts
    (You’ll die in dark, alone!)
but your Grace has many parts.
    (Neither He nor you atone!)
I’d rather die in Your rough Hands
Than in any Roman Elysian lands.

An uplifting conversation, Andrew, about a topic we usually avoid. Indeed, “Grace has many parts.”
