Because It’s Not Nice

Are you guilty of these not-nice actions?

  • I gloat at others’ troubles
  • I kick ‘em when they’re down
  • I grab all the credit
  • I lord it over others

The prophet Ezekiel prophesied disaster for nations doing these things.
(from Ezekiel 25, 29, 31 – MSG)

Because you cheered when my Sanctuary was desecrated . . .

Because the Philistines were so spitefully vengeful . . .

Because you said, “It’s my Nile. I made it” . . .

Because it skyscrapered upward, piercing the clouds, swaggering and proud . . .

Not nice for a nation—not so good in people either.

  1. Kicking them when they’re down, yes, sometimes. Literally.

I mean, sometimes someone you put down has got to be made to STAY down.

If you fight fair, you’re not doing it right.
