Are you guilty of these not-nice actions?
- I gloat at others’ troubles
- I kick ‘em when they’re down
- I grab all the credit
- I lord it over others
The prophet Ezekiel prophesied disaster for nations doing these things.
(from Ezekiel 25, 29, 31 – MSG)
Because you cheered when my Sanctuary was desecrated . . .
Because the Philistines were so spitefully vengeful . . .
Because you said, “It’s my Nile. I made it” . . .
Because it skyscrapered upward, piercing the clouds, swaggering and proud . . .
Kicking them when they’re down, yes, sometimes. Literally.
I mean, sometimes someone you put down has got to be made to STAY down.
If you fight fair, you’re not doing it right.
Fair? Safe? Fun? They aren’t all the same.
If you can meet your own eyes in a mirror at day’s end, you probably did OK.
