Bless Those Who Call You Names

So much unpleasant disagreement in our world . . . devolving to name-calling on all sides.

Matthew 5:44 (KJV)
Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.

No more put-downs. No more scorn and shame. Stop insulting folks who think differently.

Love them. Be nice to them. Whole-heartedly.

  1. Disagree without being disagreeable.

Though when I was younger (and not a Christian), I thought the Bible really said, “Do one to others before others can do one to you.”

    • Shirlee Abbott says:

God tells us to be nice to others before they are nice to you. Even if they’re never nice to you.

That’s what made Jesus stand out from the crowd.

  2. Mary Christensen says:

I just declined signing a petition for someone I would not vote for to become our governor. But I declined politely. I admit I do not pray for those I do not wish to see in positions of authority. I guess I should pray for them even though I disagree with them.
