Seas Shout

Psalm 98:7-8 (ISV)

Let the sea and everything in it shout,
along with the world and its inhabitants;
 let the rivers clap their hands in unison;

and let the mountains sing for joy.

The sea shouts for joy, and the rivers clap to the rhythm.

Skies Proclaim

A friend posted some photos of the night sky . . . taken though a telescope. Amazing!

Psalm 19:1 (NIV)
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Your glory, Lord God, displayed in ways I can’t even see. Glory beyond my imagination. I’m in awe!

Trees Applaud

Picture this:

Isaiah 55:11 (MSG)

So you’ll go out in joy,
you’ll be led into a whole and complete life.

The mountains and hills will lead the parade,
bursting with song.
All the trees of the forest will join the procession,
exuberant with applause.

Mountains march, hills sing, and the trees give them a standing ovation.

Nature Sings

We took a delightful Sunday drive along a scenic byway. These words played through my mind:

“All nature sings,
and round me rings
The music of the spheres.”
Maltbie D. Babcock (1858-1901)

Matthew 11:15 (NIV)
Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Through Faith

Through faith, we have access to God’s power.

Ephesians 1:19 (AMPC)
And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.

Great power. Unlimited power. In and for and through us who believe.

In Faith

By faith, we go.

In faith, we rest.

In faith:

        • we lie down in green pastures (Psalm 23:2)
        • we lean on the everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27)
        • we find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:29)

By Faith . . .

Hebrews 11

By faith Abel . . .
By faith Enoch . . .
By faith Noah . . .
By faith Abraham . . .

How about a personal version of Hebrews 11?

By faith [fill in your name] _____________ [fill in the blank].

How do you finish the sentence?

Something to Remember (reposted from 2015)

thought

Yesterday was Pentecost Sunday? What is Pentecost?

        • A traditional Jewish festival
        • The birthday of the Christian church
        • All of the above

The Holy Spirit descended on the believers during the Feast of Pentecost, and thus started the Christian Church.

Without Pentecost, we wouldn’t be in church each week. That’s something to remember on Memorial Day weekend, when we honor those who died for the freedom we enjoy—including the freedom to be in church.thank you

It’s Time for the Spirit

This coming Sunday is Pentecost, when we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God promised visions, dreams and prophecies.

Acts 2:17-18 (NIV) – quoted from Joel 2:28-29
In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.

Young and old, men and women, sons and daughters — speak up! Now is the time.
