Sweet Words

GIGO. Garbage in, Garbage out. It applies to computers — and more.

“A cup brimful of sweetness cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, no matter how suddenly jarred.”
Amy Carmichael, 1867-1951

Garbage words in, garbage words out. Sweet words in, sweet words out.

The words we hear, read and ponder impact the words we speak and write.

Good morning, Lord. Teach me to watch the words I take in as much or more than the words I put out. Fill my heart with Your Word — and fill my mouth with wise words, true words, kind words, healing words, sweet words.

This was PERFECT for me today! Over the last few days, I’ve noticed that, out of nowhere, a curse word using the Lord’s name in vain will enter my mind. It always takes me by surprise because I have never been big on cussing, other than those teenage years when it was “COOL and IMPRESSIVE,” and even then was careful not to use the LORD’s NAME… I immediately start apologizing to Him, and ask Him why? This morning, a thought hit me: I have been watching a lot of comedy shows on the streaming channels lately, so I guess God gave me my answer!
