I moan to myself as I get in the car, “Everything hurts.” Truth is, I have a bum knee. The rest of me is just fine. I can walk, drive, sit and stand, carry in my arms and write with my fingers — no problem. I should be grateful.
When I exaggerate my complaints, I’m lying to myself. And I know who is behind the lie.
John 8:44 (ESV)
…there is no truth in him [the devil]. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Good morning, Lord. Not only do I listen to the lies of the enemy, I repeat them to myself. Forgive me! Teach me to focus on You and Your truth. Engrave Your words on my heart, fill my mouth with praise and gratitude for Your goodness and grace.
