Rest is good.
But it can also be too much of a good thing.
Proverbs 24:33-34 (NIV)
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.
We’re meant to work … and rest. In good balance.
Good morning, Lord. Help me discern the difference between too much sleep and not enough … and likewise, between not enough work and too much. Teach me, Jesus, the healthy balance between work and rest, wrapping both in prayer and praise. I want to work — and rest — as onto You, Lord God. (Colossians 3:23).
