Don’t Hide Your Story

Matthew 5:15-16 (NLT)
No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

No one publishes a book and then hides it in a closet. In the same way, share your story with others, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Good morning, Lord. Sometimes I want to hide in a corner, unnoticed by those around me. But I have a story to tell, a story of Your love and faithfulness. Who needs to hear my story, Lord? Who needs to hear Your story, the story of Your patience and protection? Give me the wisdom to know and the courage to speak … to the right people at the right time, for Your glory and not my own.

Thank you for your morning devotions. I did not pick up a Bible until I was 60 years old and I am now 79. Like most “new” Christians I fell in love. I must say your “constructive thoughts” not only clarify what I think I understand, but often give me the words to share scripture in everyday terms. I have lots of wow moments with you each morning. You are a blessing.
