Tears on the Right Road

Luke 19: 41-42 (NIV)
As he [Jesus] approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.

Jesus wept. It’s OK to cry.

Some things are just so sad.

Good morning, Lord. Let’s be honest … I get frustrated with the chaos, I don’t like it when things don’t go my way. My thoughts hover over my own self, how it impacts me. Forgive my self-centeredness. Give me eyes to see what is happening to others and a heart that shares their pain. Teach me to seek their wellbeing — in prayer and deed — as much as my own.
