I’m Sorry … Again

I confess my sin, I repent for my wrongdoing. Then I sin again. And repent again.

In this, I’m a bit like the Apostle Paul.

Romans 7:15 (NLT)
I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

Good morning, Lord. Here I am again, confessing a new version of the same old sin. Here You are again, granting me grace, mercy and a new day. Thank You! Show me the path out of this loop, O God. I want to be more like You and less like my old self — today, all day, every day.

GM Shirlee, I pray very similar words because of my repent-sin-repent loop and I know most of our brothers and sisters in Christ do too. But, praise Jesus, for He will complete his transforming work, making us holy and one with Him. And then, as John Eldredge says, we will love him with deepest gratitude because of “the utter relief of holiness”! Can’t wait!!!

My personal repent-sin-repent loop, God’s people’s repent-sin-repent loop, repeated from Genesis to now. I too look forward to the hope of heaven.

Amen, sister! Btw, you are the Yoda of succinctness 💪🏼 I hope to one day master it like you!

Hi Shirlee, I love your devotions. Short and meaningful. Very good for those like me w short attention span. You are reaching a needy audience. So glad I found you. Blessings to you.
