Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart …, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 1After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper ...
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
1 Kings 19:11-13 (NIV)
God’s still small voice whispers, “What are you doing?”
Good morning, Lord. Tune my ears to hear Your still small voice. Give me the humility to admit when I am wrong. Grant me discernment to see the right path and the strength to walk in it. Keep me honest, O God, and give me a willing and obedient heart.
I came upon your site today as a result of subscribing to Encouragement for Today. I read your posts all the way back to Christmas. I found the aggregate of the posts to be a superb plan for the new year – a plan based on relying on our all-sufficient LORD. May the LORD bless you and reward you for your anointed work.
Thank you, Charles, for subscribing. My goal is to direct my readers’ thoughts toward God and His will for them. May He reward your thoughtful planning.
Like Charles, I found you here via Proverbs 31 devotionals. Each day I hunt for your posts, as they really touched me. I appreciate your short, concise writing. It’s almost as if your short posts are a catalyst for me to listen to what the Lord has to say to me. Rather than reading a whole lot of text by an author, you encourage me to read a very short text….then let the Lord take over in teaching me. For example, after reading your post here, Romans 15:13 (May the God of all hope…) suddenly popped into my mind.
Thank you, Nancy. I’m delighted that God nudged you from my words to His Word.
