The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
A little light changes the dark , but darkness doesn’t change the light.
It just makes the light more noticeable.

Sometimes the Light is very faint,
sometimes it isn’t clear,
but be sure that Light ain’t
never gonna disappear.
It may be phosphorescent glow,
like a ship’s tropical wake,
or or like starlight shining from the snow
around a still calm lake,
but know the Light will sure be there,
whenever times are grim,
and it will be a sign of Care,
tho’ far away and dim,
and you’ll hear ol’ Nick’s angry shout
for he can never put it out.
