An epiphany is a revelation. The Wise Men had an epiphany. They saw with their own eyes the Christ Child, Emmanuel, God-with-Us, the Savior of the world.
Remember God’s promise to Abraham?
Genesis 22:18 (NIV)
Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,
The Wise Men saw God’s promise working out in real life. What a blessing!
The only thing I ask of God
as I gird my heart to die
is that my days have not been fraud
and I face death like samurai.
Let me stand astride the land,
a colossus born of war
that helps the peasants understand
what it is to just endure.
May He tolerate my pride,
and may He hone my blade
that verily, I stand beside
the giants His will made.
Move over, David’s mighty men
for this Christian man of Zen.
From Psalm 27:
“One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life.”
You will, Andrew, and you will stand among other mighty warriors for the Lord.
Thank you so much!
I love that God still gives us epiphanies into who He is and who we are in Him!
Agreed, Jeanne!
