James 3:17 (AMP)
But the wisdom from above is . . . without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile].
Short and simple–if it’s selfish and self-serving, it isn’t wisdom.

I was not to wisdom led,
but to a wayward glamour,
in use of my full-boned head
as a mallet or a hammer.
I stood upon the scaffold high,
and felt, yes, quite the fool.
Time for bracing had come nigh,
and I did not have the tool.
I did not want to descend,
and face the ridicule and glee,
so I thought to just depend
on what God provided me.
With occipital bone the wedge was driven,
and not, praise God, was my skull riven.
“A wayward glamour” has lured many a soul to a foolish place. Thanks be to God, He loves fools!
May you sense His presence with you today, Andrew, in this difficult (but not foolish) season.
Oh, it’s foolish, too. Burned the crap out of my hand, welding.
And a week later, the hand looks a right mess.
I will add your hand to my prayer list, Andrew. May you grasp things physically and spiritually.
