Different Dreams

All dreams are not alike:

Some dreams are carefully worded. Take the New Testament’s Joseph, for example:

Matthew 2:13 (NIV)
An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.”

Some dreams are symbolic, like Joseph’s from the Old Testament:

Genesis 37:9
“I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.

Specific words or symbolic images–God sends out His message. It’s our job to pay attention.

  1. I have no strength to pay attention;
I am DONE, God, can’t you see?
There is nothing You can mention
that can now call out to me.
I did the very best I could
to run the path that you laid,
but let this now be understood,
You asked more than I could have paid.
I’m still here, and won’t abandon
the sturdy faith that brought me here,
but now it’s me, not You, that’s standin’,
and on that point let’s be clear.
You don’t owe me one thin dime,
but hey, vice versa, and I’m out of time.
