I Pledge Allegiance to My Nation

I love my country. It’s not perfect, and I’m tired of the infighting. But my roots are here, and I’m not planning to leave anytime soon. I like what’s good, and I pray over what’s not working.

In a sense, however, I’m just visiting.

Philippians 3:20 (NIV)
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Howdy-do, United States. I’m just passing through on my way home.

  1. It’s not ‘my country right or wrong’
    nor a link unto the tribal;
    it’s nothing like a clan-belong,
and there’s nothing here that’s primal.
    A country founded on ideals,
    beholden to a higher cause,
not servant to what a leaders feels,
    but hewing to its laws.
Such has not been seen on earth
since the distant fall of Man,
and harking to the Virgin Birth,
    perhaps this was the plan?
This is not the perfect manifestation,
but in its writ may be God’s Nation.

“God’s Nation.” You’ve got the jump on tomorrow’s topic, Andrew. You are always at the front of the pack, ahead of the curve!
