The End of a Season

There are seasons in our lives:

Defined by age:
child, teen, young adult, middle age, senior citizen

Defined by ministry:
serving, teaching, writing, praying

Defined by role:
follower, leader, encourager

Lord, teach me to move from season to season–just as spring grows into summer, summer turns into fall, fall fades into winter, winter bursts into spring. Teach me to let go when you say, “the end.”

  1. They say that I’m at journey’s end,
    and in my final season,
    and while evil things portend,
    I won’t stop believin’.
I’ll fight this to the gates of hell
    and out the other side.
When Satan hears the final bell,
    he’s gonna run and hide.
As long as I have strength to rise
you’ll find me on my feet
    and cancer’s really big surprise
is that I can’t be beat.
They say it is the fall of night
but I have not yet begun to fight.

I thought about you, Andrew, when I wrote this post. I wondered how you would respond. You exceeded all expectations. Bless your soul!
