Had to give this some thought. I suspect that unless we attain a Buddha-like state of satori in this life, we can’t be whole-hearted for God except inasmuch as we keep trying, and do not content ourselves with standing in the way of sinners, nor sitting in the seat of the scornful.
Ahh, the wisdom of Psalm 1, of not settling into the seat of scorners. If I have only half a chair there, I won’t be able to get comfortable.
