Luke 2:41-52 was the basis of yesterday’s lesson: Jesus, age 12, stayed behind in Jerusalem, spending three days talking with the religious leaders in the Temple.

His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
Seems to me, Jesus sounds like the parent here–calm, thoughtful and honest. Yet he went back with them, obedient. And humble.
