Just Do the Right Thing

Years ago, I asked an older gentleman how he handled dueling demands. Charlie leaned back in his desk chair and gave me a fatherly smile. “It’s not hard,” he said as he tucked his thumbs in his suspenders. “Just do the right thing.”

Charlie’s been gone for years. But rarely a week goes by that I don’t hear him behind me, “Just do the right thing.”
