We just celebrated Children’s Sunday. I asked, “What’s the best part of having children?”
- Leaving a heritage
- Watching them sleep
- The miracle of birth
- Grandchildren! (from a bumper sticker: “If I’d known grandchildren were so much fun, I’d have had mine first”)
Years ago, back when our first child was a wee tyke, this question was asked in adult Sunday School. My husband answered, “You get to play with their toys.”

Don’t have kids.Might have, long ago, but the woman who was carrying my child was shot in an apartment stairwell.
That sucked.
