Not Praying? Why Not?

thought

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV)
Pray continually.

The Bible says do it. You’re not. Why not?

        • I’m not on speaking terms with God just now
        • I prayed once, didn’t work. Haven’t prayed since
        • Too busy!
        • Don’t know how

Sin and disbelief get in the way of praying, for sure. Upside down priorities can interfere, temporarily or permanently.

Almost all Christians could use some prayer training. It’s like physical exercise–the more you do, the better you do. A personal trainer helps. And you have access to the best.

Luke 11:1 (NIV)
One of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray.”

Just ask.bless willing

  1. Right now my whole life, every breath, every step, is a prayer.

    • Shirlee Abbott says:

You are one person I know who truly lives out this verse. I want to pray like you do–without the pain, I confess.

  2. I’m so awful about thinking things, and forgetting to talk to God instead of just thinking it. 🙂 You are right … it just takes training your mind.

  3. Sydna Spancake says:

It struck me that “SOULS UNDER CONSTRUCTION” was a deep thought and great name for a website…. Maybe with different imagery — I like it : ]

    • Shirlee Abbott says:

I confess, it was far from my first choice. I had a dozen “better ideas” that were already used by others. I wanted something unique. As to the imagery–I deliberately keep it stark. Relationship with God should be packed with imagery, but it is different for everyone. My goal is to help others find their own, not impose mine on them.
